Client: A major university that consists of four main colleges and a law school and is consistently ranked in the top 15 of "Most Wired Campus" by PC Magazine and Princeton Review.

Assignment: Design and implement a new voice communications system and LAN infrastructure

• Define business goals and operational requirements for a new voice communications system and network;
• Develop specifications for acquisition of equipment and services;
• Manage the RFP process and provide independent, unbiased analysis of responses;
• Provide expert project management services to ensure on-time, under budget project success.

Result: Our client was successful in acquiring and implementing a new voice communications system and next generation IP network backbone for less than was budgeted for the voice system alone. In addition:

• Our client saved at least 750K by using a well-crafted RFP to ensure they purchased only the equipment and services needed to their accomplish business goals;
• Our client saved at least 50K annually by using existing voice and data telecom personnel to assist with installation and maintenance of the new network.
